LSU’s Mathieu, Peterson make NFL All-Decade team

A pair of former LSU defensive backs were honored as members of the newly-released NFL All-Decade Team of the 2010s.

Patrick Peterson, 29, was one of the three cornerbacks named to the All-Decade defensive unit, along with . Peterson has spent nine seasons with the Arizona Cardinals after earning two First Team All-American selections (2009, 10) as a member of the LSU Tigers football squad.

Tyrann Mathieu, 27, was named as one of the two defensive backs — along with Chris Harris — on the All-Decade defense. Mathieu, born in New Orleans, was a Heisman Trophy finalist with the local Tigers and an SEC Defensive Player of the Year winner prior to beginning his seven-year professional career in ’13.

The pair of DBs were teammates at LSU, and again with the Cardinals from 2013-17.
