Just two Louisiana Tech players were selected in the 2020 NFL Draft this past weekend.
Those selections, however, just so happened to come in consecutive picks.
The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs nabbed safety L’Jarius Sneed with the 138th overall pick in Saturday’s fourth round. One pick later, the Las Vegas Raiders selected cornerback Amik Robertson with the 139th pick.
The 6’1″/193-pound Sneed, from Minden High, made the switch from corner to safety heading into his senior season last fall. He finished the campaign by tallying 72 total tackles, earning All-Conference USA Second Team honors.
Robertson, the 5’9″/183-pound back from Thibodaux High, earned consecutive All-Conference USA First Team honors in 2018 and ’19. He played in 12 games last year as a junior, totaling 60 tackles, five interceptions and 21 passes defensed.
