Day 2 of the annual MLB Draft kicked off this evening.
With zero LSU Tigers being taken in last night’s first round, it didn’t take long into the night before a Tiger was taken off the board Thursday.
The defending champion Washington Nationals selected LSU right-hander Cole Henry with the 55th overall pick.
Just seven picks later, Henry’s teammate Daniel Cabrera was nabbed by the Detroit Tigers with the 62nd pick.
Cabrera, a junior outfielder, hit .345 with a pair of homers, 12 RBI and 14 runs in 17 starts during the shortened 2020 season.
Henry (pictured) just completed his sophomore season with a 1.89 ERA and 23 strikeouts across four starts.
