UL’s Young signs pro contract with Orioles

Over 24.2 innings pitched, Brandon Young allowed just a trio of earned runs in his four appearances this spring.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette ace will now get his chance to prove himself at the professional level.

The 6-6/210-pound right handed ace went undrafted in the five-round MLB Draft, but was given the opportunity to sign a free agent contract with the Baltimore Orioles.

The signing was made official yesterday.

Young posted a 6-5 record and a 3.65 ERA with 109 strikeouts over his two-year career at UL.
