When the 2020 Major League Baseball season gets underway July 24, former McNeese State University standout Jace Peterson will begin his second stint with the San Diego Padres.
The 30-year-old Lake Charles native was selected by the Padres with the 58th overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft, making his major league debut with the club in 2014.
After his rookie season in ’14, Peterson suited up for the Atlanta Braves (2015-17), New York Yankees (2018) and Baltimore Orioles (2018-19) before returning to the Padres’ organization on a minor league deal in December.
According to KLPC, the McNeese alum made the cut for the Brewers’ 45-man summer camp.
